TEAM AND HOCKEY FRIENDS SCORE ONE TO HELP HAITI2010-01-28
...SUBWAYs win 4-0 against South Shore!
The Dartmouth SUBWAY Major Midgets, Hockey Friends, and Family raised $1025 for the Canadian Red Cross to assist with recovery in Haiti. The funds were raised through a combination of donations at the gate, the Subs portion of the 50-50, and a donation from the Jeff Smith Memorial Fund. Of note, The Sackville Flyers PeeWee AAA team donated $200 and the Flyers Atom AAA team donated $100 (Awesome!!). Thanks to all players, parents, family and friends who helped us make a difference for those in need.
The SUBWAYs also managed another solid win by a score of 4-0 over the South Shore Mustangs. Cam Poirier gathered his fourth shut-out of the regular season and the team gave up only four shots in the final two periods for the win. The SUBWAYs also scored all four goals on the power-play. Four regulars sat out of the game as Boucher, Ramey, Anthony, and Jansz took advantage of rest and recovery time.
The team will close out the regular season on the road this coming weekend against Halifax on Saturday night and in Port Hood against CB West on Sunday afternoon.
