DARTMOUTH CLOSES OUT REGULAR SEASON, READY FOR PLAYOFFS!2010-01-31
29-6 third period shot advantage not enough to defeat CB West...SUBS lose close road game 4-3.
CB West counted on three second period power-play goals and a third period bounce off the glass to overcome a charging SUBWAY team in the final 20 minutes. Dartmouth saved their sense of urgency for the third period but it wasn't enough to grab two points to close out the regular season. Overall shots on goal were 58-28 in favor of the SUBWAYs.
Dartmouth will play either CB West or South Shore in the first round of the playoffs. The opponent will be decided after the Cole Harbour - Valley game on Monday night.
"We didn't bring our 'A' game to Port Hood until it was too late but we have been very happy with our players in the last six weeks and our team is ready to compete hard in the playoffs. The kick in the rear today is a good thing. It doesn't matter who we play, we have to be focused on being at our very best playing with speed, intensity, and discipline! Our group is excited to get it going after a solid and successful regular season." (Crossley)
